About us

Who are we?

We Independent is a 501(c)(3) approved tax-exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals holding dependent visas in the United States. We understand the unique challenges faced by those who have relocated to support their families. Our goal is to create a space where they can connect, share their stories, and find the resources they need to build fulfilling lives here.

We believe that with the right support, these individuals have incredible potential to contribute to their communities.

What we do?

At We Independent, we offer a range of services designed to empower dependent visa holders and support their integration into American society. Our community forums provide a welcoming space for individuals to share experiences and build meaningful connections.

Through language learning hubs, we collaborate with local institutions to help individuals improve their English language skills, while our local support groups foster a sense of community and mutual support. We also provide volunteer and internship opportunities, allowing individuals to utilize their skills and engage in cultural exchange. Additionally, our resource library offers valuable information on mental health, legal support, and other aspects of life in the U.S.

Through these programs, we aim to empower dependent visa holders to integrate successfully into American society and achieve personal growth.

Mission

Our mission is to embrace dependent visa holders, helping them build community, gain access to critical resources, and overcome social isolation. Through this supportive environment, we empower them to regain their independence, integrate into U.S. society, and feel seen, valued, and capable of making meaningful contributions.

Vision

Our vision is a world where dependent visa holders are empowered, visible, and actively contributing to society—both mentally and physically—through opportunities that allow them to grow and thrive within the community.

Purpose

We aim to offer dependent visa holders the tools, community, and resources they need to regain purpose, develop new skills, and feel confident in navigating life in the U.S. Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging and ensure they can engage and contribute meaningfully.
